While digging around for a stock image (don’t even ask what I was searching for), I stumbled across something so gloriously random I had to share: Barbie, dressed as one of Santa’s Helpers, hovering over a tiny toilet bowl. Clearly, she’s here to remind us all not to overdo it at those holiday parties. Pace yourself, people—no one wants to end up on the Naughty List like Barbie!
During my visit to Salon 94’s delightfully irreverent exhibition Shucks & Aww, one of the many stand out pieces was : a pristine porcelain toilet bowl filled to the brim with bright, plastic fruit. Created by Swiss artist Urs Fischer, the work — simply titled Untitled (2015) — perfectly captures the exhibition’s mash-up of the raw, the refined, and the knowingly ridiculous. Mad Props go out to designer MockFu for this minimalist design which, at first glance, looks like a clever tribute to filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock — until you notice the silhouette is actually someone else entirely. Beneath the image, a single word reads: Cock. Subtle? Hardly. Satisfying? Absolutely. Continue reading The Subtle Protest: Cock T Shirt→
This Sand Shark (Attack) Bar Puzzle by Janet Hill Studio (via the New York Puzzle Company) turns beachside bliss into a hilarious scene of seaside peril. The 500-piece puzzle depicts a whimsical beach bar shaped like the gaping jaws of a Megalodon, where carefree cocktail drinkers lean against the counter while shark fins slice through the sand around unsuspecting sunbathers. Look closely and you’ll even spot the flailing legs of an unlucky diver half-buried in the background! Equal parts cheeky and charming, this one’s sure to make puzzle time a splash.

Designed by Italian conceptual artist Maurizio Cattelan in collaboration with Seletti, this collectible porcelain plate with an image of a Toad Sandwich — pulled from the pages of Cattelan’s provocative, image-only magazine Toilet Paper — is just as charmingly absurd as the rest of the artist’s oeuvre.
