Fitness Pioneer and Nutrition Guru, Jack LaLanne, passed away on Sunday at the age of 96. What a good, long life he lived! LaLanne was an inspiration to millions of people as a man who not only preached and taught personal fitness through common sense diet and exercise but also completely lived the lifestyle that he espoused. I can recall watching Jack’s exercise programs (on a black and white TV!) when I was in grade school and his name was literally synonymous with the practice of staying fit. He was a motivational speaker before they even existed and wasahead of his tiemin so manyways. Jack LaLanne is currently shaking his head and tsk-tsking at all the love handles in heaven. Those seraphim are in for a real ass-kicking.
Rest in Peace, Jack.
He created some great health techniques… however, the ingestion of bacon was not one of them. My great-grandmother lived to be 96 and lived primarily on spaghetti and 10 cups of coffee per day. 😀
So sad, rip.
RIP Jack!
My friend’s mom in PA is about 94 or so. She might tell us to put more butter on things and don’t overload the dryer as the key to a long life. 😀
