NYC Street Art Fans know that Freeman Alley on the LES is probably the prime location in the city for discovering exciting new pieces from artists who travel from all over to paint and paste-up their latest works in the narrow passageway that leads from Rivington Street to one of the best farm-to-table restaurants in the city.
On my most recent trip to find something fun and inspiring for the blog, halfway down the alley I noticed there’s now an opening to a courtyard that fronts an AirBNB hotel called Untitled at 3 Freeman Alley. Feel free to enter and look around because there’s a ton of artwork in the courtyard as well, and it’s mostly in decent shape, maybe from the added protection of being somewhat walled off from the alley.
Anyway that’s where I found this rad Rainbow-painted Fire Hydrant: artist unknown.
