Aidan Has A Posse – a Benefit Concert featuring Buckcherry and The Toilet Boys

August 10, 2011, New York, NY10th Street Entertainment, Flying Television and Bowery Presents announce AIDAN HAS A POSSE, a special benefit concert featuring a performance by rockers Buckcherry, Toilet Boys and Pisser on Thursday, August 11th. This intimate event is being held at the Music Hall of Williamsburg and will include a silent auction with items such as an 6 day rock n’ roll cruise with performances by Buckcherry, Hellyeah, Hinder and others, a guitar played and autographed by Keith Nelson of Buckcherry, New York Giants tickets, a Samsung Galaxy Tab, unique rock memorabilia and much more.

All of the musicians, artists, producers and venue are joining the “posse” in support of Aidan Seeger, a beautiful 6-year old boy who was recently diagnosed with a rare brain disease called Adrenoleukodystrophy, or ALD. ALD severely affects neurological signals, swiftly and irreversibly destroying nerve cells. While there is no known cure, bone marrow transplants have been known to stop the degenerative process. As Aidan is in dire need of a bone marrow transplant, Be The Match Foundation will be on site to build a bank for bone marrow donors via painless cheek swabbing, a crucial part in the fight against ALD. This posse is ready for a fight!

Buckcherry guitarist Keith Nelson says, “The Seeger family has been friends of ours for many years; it has been devastating to learn about Aidan’s recent diagnosis of ALD. With the family’s blessing we quickly put together an event in Aidan’s back yard, Brooklyn, NY, to raise both awareness and financial support for the upcoming battle Aidan will be facing. We are grateful for the long running friendship of the Seegers and fortunate to be in a position to lend a hand. The initial response has been overwhelming with Bowery Presents, Flying Television, Shepard Fairey, Ewok and many others already jumping on board to help. It will be a night to remember.”

Tickets are on sale on Ticketmaster at This Link. VIP tickets are $150 and include meet and greets with Buckcherry and friends and priority seating. Regular tickets are $25. Net proceeds go to Aidan Seeger’s medical bills.

The Worleygig is proud to announce a Pink Thing that is not only awesomely pink but also benefits a very worthwhile cause. The Pinkburst Project, sponsored by Guitarist Jay Jay French of Twisted Sister, is a collection of one-of-a-kind, custom made guitars from a variety of leading instrument manufacturers including Gibson, Fender, Paul Reed Smith, Epiphone, Gretsch and Martin. There is also a matching collection of pink custom amps from Marshall, Fender, Vox, Mesa, Orange, Hartke and Diamond. All guitars and amplifiers will be offered for sale at an auction to be held on Sunday, May 1, 2011 during the Skinner Fine Musical Instruments Auction in Boston, Massachusetts. View the full collection of individual guitars at This Link.

These stunningly beautiful guitars and amps have been built for sale at auction to create awareness of The Ocular Immunology and Uveitis Foundation. Proceeds from sales will raise much-needed funds for research, education and support for those affected by Uveitis and other inflammatory eye diseases. Uveitis is the third leading cause of preventable blindness in the USA, and the leading cause of blindness of American girls.

Jay Jay’s daughter, Samantha was diagnosed  with Uveitis at age six during a routine eye exam at school. Samantha’s sight has been preserved through a cocktail of topical and systemic medications that her physician, Dr. Stephen Foster and his associated doctors at MERSI (Massachusetts Eye Research and Surgery Institution) in Cambridge, Massachusetts have carefully administered. Dr. Foster and his Foundation will benefit from the monetary proceeds of this auction.

Prior to the auction, a benefit concert, “The Pinkburst Project: An Evening with Twisted Sister and Friends benefiting the Ocular Immunology and Uveitis Foundation” will take place on Friday, April 29 at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square.
