I Stand By My Decision A Guest Blog from Voiceover Actor Charlie Rengel
It’s been a long road leading to Election Day, and I’m confident that I’ve been following the right path towards a new future. I already knew that I would support the Democratic Party. The past 8 years have made me wary of Republicans, knowing that most would put their interests over the country’s. The Democrats had an admirable selection of presidential candidates over the Republicans, being narrowed down to Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. I had originally voted for Hillary Clinton as the nominee, giving in to the suspicions of Barack Obama’s “inexperience.” However, Obama had been gaining ground, and was selected over Clinton.
It was around then that I realized Barack Obama had a clear understanding of the problems facing the country and knew what had to be done. Shortly after the controversial sermon given by Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama responded with an intelligent, mature discussion on race-relations. (Jon Stewart from The Daily Show said, “For the first time, a politician talked to [the public] about race like we were adults”). I followed CNN, CNBC and MSNBC as well as the network news, ending the night with The Daily Show and Colbert Report. Whenever Obama spoke, he focused on the main issues and was always direct and sincere. Obama also knows how to choose the right people to assist him, when he selected his running mate Sen. Joe Biden. Biden’s experience in foreign policy alone made him a wise choice. The final months would prove to be an election-year to remember, especially against Republican front-runner Sen. John McCain. Wow, didn’t John McCain give the shoddiest, most shamefully embarrassing of all performances at the debate the other night? Doddering around the stage like Skeletor, using that “Drinking Game Worthy” buzz-phrase “My Friends” ad nauseum, avoiding addressing any issue, referring to Barack Obama as “That one” and even refusing to shake Obama’s hand at the end of the debate. What a total low class douche bag. The funny thing is how the Obama campaign and supporters have already put a spin on McCain’s disrespectful insult by creating “I’m voting For That One” T-Shirts and stickers. Way to run with it! That One 08!!!
Sarah Palin is retarded. She said “Nucular” – instead of the correct word, “Nuclear” –twice in last night’s VP debate with the awesome Joe Biden. Sadly, we all know who else says “Nucular,” and god knows he can barely talk his way out of a paper bag. Maybe the Republicans are trying to start a trend where, if the word is mispronounced enough times by people in the spotlight, that incorrect pronunciation is adopted by society and therefore becomes accepted as correct? Jesus god help us. Anyway, here’s my favorite, humorous editorial about last night’s debate and what a gross douche Palin is, from The Huffington Post: Michael Seitzman: Sarah Palin Naked.
Jewsvote.org launched a new campaign today called “The Great Schlep” — a national effort to mobilize young Jews to go to Florida to convince their grandparents to vote for Barack Obama. The Great Schlep was officially introduced with the release of an irreverent video from Actress / Comedian Sarah Silverman, promoting the effort with the proclamation: “If Barack Obama doesn’t win this election, I am going to blame the Jews, so get your fat Jewish asses on a plane to Florida!” Using cutting-edge political mobilization technology pioneered by Jewsvote.org, volunteers, also known as “schleppers” will have the tools to network and coordinate outreach efforts in the key swing states like Florida. Droga5, a New York-based advertising agency, produced the Silverman video and is well known in the advertising world, especially for their recent Mark Echo – Air Force 1 viral video that was viewed millions of times. Be sure to visit the official website, The Great Schlep Dot Com, watch Sarah Silverman’s hilarious NSFW video, sign up, join their Face Book Page, and buy some swag! Obama Biden ’08!
To increase the enthusiasm and support for the election of Senator Barrack Obama as our next President, Move On Dot Org will send a free Obama button to anyone who clicks this link. I just heard the most hilarious story from a friend of mine, who shall remain nameless to save him from getting his ass kicked for telling me this awesome story! It seems that my friend is out in Pennsylvania this weekend (from his home in LA) with his roommate to attend the wedding of, let’s say “a mutual friend.” Apparently the roommate is not the biggest fan of Barr declared “I’m going to go over there and tear that thing down!” What a total bitch right? It’s so typical of conservative blowhards to try and stifle freedom of expression when it doesn’t exactly align with their own propaganda. Anyway, stay with me because this gets really good. The roommate had been gone for some time and people began to speculate on where she was and why it was taking her so long to commit a simple act of irrational vandalism.
