We passed by the Balloon Saloon — the store dominates the northeast corner of West Broadway and Duane Streets in Tribeca — on the way to dine at The Odeon Bistro, and just had to stop and take a few photos. Balloon Saloon, which sells all kinds of inflatables, and also delivers every configuration of balloon clusters that you can imagine, was evidently voted The Most Fun Store in NYC; and you don’t even have to enter the store to see why. Doesn’t looking at this very gigantic Pink Flamingo Pool Foatie just make you think of summer, and how much fun it is to float around in the pool on a sunny summer day, perhaps while enjoying a cold tropical drink? Ah, the life.
We found this guy at ICFF, hanging out in the booth for Sunny Life of Sydney, Australia; a company that seems to represent a lot of neat products associated with Summer. Summer!
Dylan’s Candy Bar is a national chain of high-end designer candy emporiums conceived by Ralph Lauren’s daughter, Dylan. With maybe a dozen stores scattered between New York and Los Angeles, the brand’s flagship store on Lexington Avenue merges the worlds of art, fashion and pop culture with candy so successfully, it is like Willy Wonka exploded in your face.
