Gail ROCKS! She's a rare breed in the world of rock journalism. Knowledgeable, a great writer and just plain fun to be around, there are so many times when she made my day a little brighter and my job a lot easier!
Gail is one of those treasures, who, like a skilled documentarian, has an eye for what’s genuine and worth discussing in her field of expertise. She makes the reader genuinely care about someone or something you’ve possibly never heard of before, and she does it in a conversational manner that puts her subjects at ease, as if you’re right there in the room talking with them yourself. And she’s fucking cool to party with at 3AM.
I felt very comfortable talking to Gail; like I was speaking to someone I've known for some time. Her sense of music history and obvious interest in researching whom ever she is interviewing makes for a great chat!
I’ve done many interviews over the years, with the Screaming Trees, Tuatara, and now as a solo artist. Of all those done here in the US and overseas as well, I can honestly say that a Gail Worley interview is quite possibly the best in the business. Her style of conversation, rather than interrogation, is unique and refreshing. Gail’s research into the background of the artists she interviews is thorough, her questions relevant, and her personality engaging. Interviews are hard work but Gail makes it a very enjoyable experience indeed.
