If this Giant Pink Banana looks familiar, it might be because you’ve seen one like it offered as a prize for winning one of the games at Luna Park in Coney Island. I was nowhere near Coney, however when I saw this happy teenager, waiting to board the elevator from the 7 Train platform at 42nd Street with the banana, which is clearly as tall as he is, in tow. Live in NYC long enough and eventually you’ll see everything.
OK, I am totally dead now from the insane cuteness of this tiny vinyl figure of a cat shaped like a croissant. Dubbed Miaou Croissant, and created by Nyammy Treats, this little conversation starter sells for just $10.99 at Forbidden Planet in NYC.
Star Wars Fans: If you’ve ever wondered, “What if Chewbacca was made of Bubblegum?” then this fun and very Pink bootleg art toy by Michael Morse is for you. Chewie Bubacca (seen here being chewed by Han Solo himself) was spotted by me at Five Points Festival and may still be available in limited edition colorway of baby pink or hot pink (just in time for a Barbie tie-in!) I saw a ton of fantastic art toys at Five Points Festival, but this Yellow Winged Shark figure by Todd Rogers of Junk Fed toys spoke to me in a way maybe only one or two other toys did. So, I had to give him a stand-alone Shark Attack post, because come on: this toy is just insane!
