This week’s Pink Thing of the Day spotlights one of the most delightfully unexpected protest accessories we spotted at the No Kings Rally held in NYC last October: an Inflatable Pink Axolotl Costume, worn proudly by a demonstrator.
Equal parts whimsical and iconic, this buoyant pink critter grabbed the spotlight as it bobbed through the crowd — an adorable ambassador of good vibes in the middle of serious civic energy. Its big eyes, oversized features and the wide smile of the person inside the costume turned heads and lifted spirits, proving once again that the protest fashion of activism can be as expressive and creative as the messages behind it.
