Aerosmith frontman Steve Tyler was born on this date, March 26th, in 1948. Jesus God, I can easily remember all the way back to the late ’70s, when Aerosmith were recording fantastic-sounding and borderline-dangerous albums like Rocks instead of bullshit crap pop songs written by Desmond Child, and I actually thought Steven Tyler was cool. Happy Birthday Steven, nice nose job!
Now, I admit – Aerosmith need to put out a fantastic fucking ROCK record that is just as ballsy as it is bitchin’ … but I can’t hate on them too much. Yes, shit like “Girls of Summer” is embarrassing for their career, but “Just Push Play?” It had a few good songs (I love “Beyond Beautiful,” and the title track in particular).
Hopefully their next album will be most excellent and we can forget about the weird poppy stuff in between.
