I was born about 3 weeks after Kurt and avoided these guys as far as I could; all the hype and hysteria surrounding their every move was a complete turn-off. About 2 years ago I listened to all of Nevermind for the first time, then over the next month or so listened to every recording and demo I could find. Only now, well after the fuss has died down, do I understand *why* this band was so revered. These guys were absolute genius at what they did. No other artist evokes in me the feelings that Nirvana does. Kurt’s story is tragic, of course, but I’m grateful for what the band was able to leave us.
