Do you like art and food and doing fun stuff? I love all of those things, so I wanted to let you know about a fun thing happening in town for a limited time only, and it’s free, so I am definitley doing it. For three days only this weekend, Openhouse Gallery in NYC will host a pop-up exhibit devoted to Peanut Butter sandwiches. Yes, I just typed that.  The Nutropolitan Museum of Art, as it is being called, will feature the work of photographer Theresa Raffetto and noted food stylist Patty White, who have taken 365 different peanut butter-related photos. These artsy photographs can be purchased, with proceeds, I believe, going to a charitable cause (I had heard this but couldn’t find any written confirmation, so don’t hold me to that statement, about the charity angle, I mean).

At this event you can also meet a peanut farmer, create your own PB&J-themed Art and learn some fun facts about nuts. All those attending will receive a free jar of peanut butter (while supplies last) and a second jar will then be donated to the Food Bank for New York City in your honor. Bringing still even more fun to the party, outside the pop-up gallery, you’ll also find the Van Leeuwen Ice Cream truck (on Saturday) and the Treats Truck (on Sunday) selling peanut-butter themed treats.  I am looking forward to this already!

Openhouse Gallery is located at 201 Mulberrry Street (Between Spring & Kenmare) in Downtown NYC. Dates and hours of the Nutropolitan Pop Up Gallery are March 4 and 5 from 10 AM to 6 PM and March 6 until 4 PM.
