Jean Grey is coming home — and apparently, she’s bringing the Phoenix with her. Marvel has announced JEAN GREY, a new five-issue limited comic book series written by X-Men writer Jed MacKay with art by Rogê Antônio. The series launches in November 2026 and picks up directly from the events of DNX, Marvel’s upcoming X-Men and Fantastic Four crossover.

After her recent intergalactic adventures as Phoenix, Jean returns to Earth only to discover that the world of the X-Men has changed dramatically in her absence. The fallout from DNX will leave the team in a very different place, while Jean herself must deal with the immense — and potentially dangerous — power of the Phoenix burning inside her.

According to MacKay, the timing is deliberate. Jean’s presence brings a powerful new dynamic to the X-Men, and DNX creates circumstances in which the X-Men need Jean just as much as Jean needs the X-Men.

That could make for a particularly interesting reunion. Jean Grey isn’t exactly your average superhero, and having the Phoenix back in the mix has a way of dramatically changing the balance of power.

The new series will explore whether Jean can control the life-giving and life-taking power of the Phoenix — or whether that power will ultimately consume everything around her.

JEAN GREY #1 will feature covers by Joëlle Jones, Miguel Mercado, and Nogi San, with the five-issue series beginning in November. Before Jean makes her fiery return, fans can get the story that sets everything in motion when DNX #1 arrives September 2. Looks like the X-Men are about to get a whole lot hotter.  For more information, visit Marvel.com.
