There are so many things you see at a fan convention that make you say, “Wait…what?” Clown Meat is definitely one of those. I spotted this wonderfully disturbing little novelty at the recent Flame Con, where it immediately caught my attention. It sure looks exactly like a tin of salted and preserved meat, complete with a vintage-style label featuring a cheerful-looking clown tossing a steak into the air. The tagline? “It tastes funny.” Clever.

Before you start wondering what clown actually tastes like — or whether PETA has been notified — rest assured that there are no clowns involved in the making of this product. The “can” is actually a small trinket box, cleverly designed to look like a can of preserved clown meat. According to the official description, it has a net weight of 4.20 ounces, because apparently even imaginary clown meat needs to be properly labeled. Iit can also be used as a bag charm — so popular right now — allowing you to carry your personal supply of clown meat wherever you go.
