Gail Worley broke my journalistic cherry. She was the first writer to interview/write about my previous band, Thin Lizard Dawn. Although she has a vast knowledge of music, she manages to write from a true fan’s perspective. She even got me excited to listen to my own music! Never afraid to mince words or speak her mind, she is always honest in her critique of the music she reviews. What the industry needs is more writers like Gail.
Brian Levy, Drummer, Portable
The most amazing thing about Gail is that she really cares and takes an interest in the subjects that she writes about. She is passionate about life, music, friendship, and everything else that matters. Her interviews always captures more than what she is given in words. She is smart, witty, funny, entertaining, truthful and honest in her writing. Gail Worley is the best!
Johnny Lokke, Guitarist
While other reviewers offer cookie-cutter copy-and-paste rehashes for their work, Gail Worley is different. Her reviews and interviews are well thought-out and well written. It’s immediately obvious she has actually listened to the music with an open mind, and then honestly gives you her opinions. I only wish more reviewers of independent artists would show the kind of respect and devotion to their craft as Gail does.
Matt Laug, Drummer (AC/DC, Slash’s Snakepit, Alanis Morrisette, etc)
Lucia Cifarelli, Vocalist, KMFDM
Gail wrote a review of a performance I did with my former band, Drill, long before I met her. Her description of the performance and what I was trying to say at that time were illustrated with incredible perception and poetry. All new artists should be as lucky as I, to have her out there in the audience. I think my favorite quote she wrote was, “She looked like she was having her spinal chord removed without benefit of anesthesia.” Over the years, Gail has been accessible to me in a way few others have been. I feel truly blessed to call her my friend. She is a genius journalist, a rare breed.
