In my experience, it is the rare male of the species who will express caution at “fooling around with [a girl’s] heart” in matters of love and intimacy. Because mostly they just do whatever the hell they want — conscience be damned. Just being serious. So, I am intrigued by this sincere-sounding “I don’t wanna fool around/with your heart” chorus on “Owls Talons Clenching My Heart” (ouch) by Glasgow based punkish trio PAWS. I mean, wow, alright. These are a bunch of stand up guys I guess. Woo. I like this song.
Happily, the video has nothing at all to do with the somewhat minor-chord message of the song (because: relationship are boring) and is just comprised of video shot by the band on their November 2013 U.S. tour, with them driving across country, shooting fireworks, skateboarding in the mountains, getting tattooed etc. FUN! “Owls Talons Clenching My Heart” is from PAWS second album, Youth Culture Forever, which is a great name for an album. After you hear this garage-rock-y tune with an undeniable groove, you will probably want to buy the album (released on May 6th on FatCat Records) and be their friend on Face Book, because it is a really good song. Enjoy!
Don’t they look like nice guys?
And look how cool their album cover art is?
