Brooklyn Star Restaurant to Showcase Local Bands At Rad Knitting Factory Concert!

On Monday, July 11th, The Brooklyn Star restaurant will put on a concert at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, featuring a handful of staff members and their bands. In the New York City restaurant business, it’s not uncommon to have musicians and artists as a part of your restaurant team and The Brooklyn Star is no exception. Ryan Spoto (Des Roar, Two Tears), Dave ‘The Wave’ Klein (Outtacontrollers), Travis St. Clair (DJ Bats), and Jesse Crawford (Peacekillers) will all perform. Between sets, raffles will be held where audience members can win cool prizes donated by local businesses. How awesome.

The Brooklyn Star opened in 2009 but, unfortunately, it was shuttered by a fire less than a year later. Shortly after the fire, the staff put together a Hootenanny at The Brooklyn Kitchen to help raise money that assisted staff while the restaurant was being rebuilt. During that period, The Brooklyn Star moved to a new, larger location, which then paved the way for Best Pizza to open in the old space. Partners/Owners of The Brooklyn Star note that, “This will be a fun night where we can give back to the people that have given so much to us. It’s exciting to know that our staff and neighborhood is filled with so many creative and supportive people and we wanted to help showcase their art. Proceeds from the show will go to the bands and a local charity. We hope to do another event in the near future showcasing other talented staff members and local businesses.”

Tickets are $10.00 in advance and are available at the Brooklyn Star (593 Lorimer Street), Knitting Factory box office (361 Metropolitan Avenue) and via Knitting Factory. Tickets are $15.00 at the door on the day of the event.
