One of our favorite food-related trade shows, Editor Showcase, kicked off its 2014 series on February 20th with an eclectic mix of Health & Nutrition products at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square. As both manufacturers and consumers raise their consciousness towards living a healthier lifestyle. I can hardly contain myself at these trade shows, walking in for the first time and seeing all the Teardrop Flags with the different products to try, it’s exciting to see what new products come onto the market and how well-established brands adapt to changing consumer demands. Here are a a few of our favorite products and displays from the show!
Green Giant has partnered with author Jessica Seinfeld (famous for her cookbook on how to Trick your Kids into Eating Vegetables) to promote its new product, Veggie Blend Ins. Each box of Veggie Blend Ins contains three pouches each of pure Carrot, Spinach and Butternut Squash purees which you can add to a wide variety of foods to add nutrition and fiber without necessarily altering the taste of the dish. This is a great idea, even if you enjoy eating vegetables. Green Giant demonstrated a delicious and practical use for the carrot puree by adding it to seasoned taco meat and serving scrumptious Mini Tacos at its booth!

No one needs to do anything to convince me to eat an Avocado, because they are delicious. But the Fresh Hass Avocado Board (#LoveOneToday) were on hand to remind us that Avocados are about so much more than just amazing Guacamole. Their booth served a delicious and surprisingly satisfying sandwich of Avocado, Feta Cheese and Fresh sliced Apples on Seven Grain Bread. So Good!
Avocado, Feta Cheese and Fresh Apple Sandwiches!
Mr. Peanut may still be the Planters Nuts Mascot after all of these years, but did you know that Planters Peanuts now come in tempting and trendy flavors such as Chipotle, Salted Caramel and Cocoa? I had no idea!
Garden Lites is a terrific brand that I always enjoy seeing at these shows. At Editor Showcase they were promoting their excellent frozen Veggie Muffins that mix traditional favorite muffin flavors with vegetables for added moistness and nutrition. These muffins are also lower in calories, higher in protein, gluten free and all natural. Very highly recommended!
NatureBox (one word) is a cool company that offers monthly subscriptions to receive boxes of assorted wholesome and healthy snacks delivered right to your door. NatureBox snacks are an ideal alternative to junk foods and it goes without saying, but you can see that I am about to, that they all taste delicious. Find out more about NatureBox at This Link.

No water is needed to take the powders as you simply pour them from their stay fresh envelopes onto your tongue and swallow. These are great to keep in your drawer at the office or in your purse to treat a sudden headache or upset tummy. Vemma is an acronym for Vitamins, Essential Minerals, Mangosteen and Aloe — ingredients in their line of Liquid Antioxidants, and refreshing Verve brand Energy Drinks. They also promote Chris Powell’s bod-e weight loss and fitness program, so you know they mean serious business when it comes to being the best You that you can be. Vemma handed out generous gift bags of their products at Editor Showcase and I am looking forward to trying their drinks at home.
We want to give a special shout out to Uncle Matt’s Organic Juice and Lemonade just because it is delicious and the folks working their booth were super friendly! Congratulations also to Uncle Matt’s on their 15th Year of growing organic produce!
I’m sure you are thinking that there is no way to improve on the perfection of the simple egg, but Eggland’s Best is here to gently prove you incorrect. Eggland’s Best are like “Super Eggs” in so many ways including the fact that each large egg has 25% less saturated fat, 10 times more Vitamin E and Double the Omega 3s of the average egg, to name but a few of its superior qualities. Plus, look how cute their Mascot is:
Crazy Adorable.
They also served these delicious little quiches in their booth. Mmm…mini quiche.
Everybody loves crunchy snacks that taste like fruit, am I right? Simply Choices offer a range of snacks including Bars, Chips and the Simply Protein Crunch you see pictured above, which is made with real fruit, has a popcorn-like texture and is a snack that makes you feel full because of its high whey protein content (Source: http://www.wellwisdom.com/ultimate-grass-fed-whey-protein/). Simply Protein Crunch comes in outrageous flavors like Banana Caramel Cashew Nut and Raspberry Coconut, so you it’s going to satisfy all of your crazy sweet cravings while also being good for you. Worth checking out at This Link!
We all know that we should take our vitamins, and supplements but no one likes taking them. I’ve been taking Nature Made VitaMelts Zinc tablets – which melt away under your tongue and taste like delicious lemony candy – for a year and I’ve never had a cold since I started taking them, truth! At Editor Showcase I picked up samples of Nature Made’s two newest VitaMelts: Hair*Skin*Nails with Biotin (which totally works, trust me) and a new Multi. Nature Made also comes in Gummy form for those who like something to chew.
I hope that you will be inspired to try out some of these brands I’ve reviewed in this post. Thanks to Formula PR once again for providing access to the show!
