This Friday, November 1st, the AKC Museum of the Dog is excited to celebrate Dia de Muertos with a special event for all dog lovers! From 12 Noon to 2 PM, come enjoy their monthly Breed Spotlight program, focusing on the incredible Mexican breed, the Xoloitzcuintli.
You’ll learn all about this unique breed and the history behind the holiday, plus meet some friendly dogs and their breed representatives on site!
Be sure to check out their beautiful Ofrenda, an altar honoring beloved pets who have passed. The altar will be decorated with traditional items like marigold flowers, candles, sugar skulls, and papel picado, and will be on display until Sunday, November 3rd. The Museum of The Dog has invited the community to share in this heartfelt tribute by submitting photos of their cherished dogs. This event is free with general museum admission.
