Do you like comfort foods? I sure do. My dream trip to the buffet includes a plate full of mashed potatoes, rice, and macaroni and cheese. Just being serious. That said, I am not much of a home cook, so it’s a big win to find convenience foods that deliver great taste and high quality to my single-lady life. This brings me to the products featured in today’s review: a selection of homemade-tasting side dishes from Bob Evans, a trusted name in quality foods for over 60 years. I received four different side dishes to review for you today and each one was amazing. Let’s get to it.

As I mentioned earlier, Macaroni & Cheese is my jam, and I love trying variations of this classic American favorite.  Bob Evans new Buffalo Macaroni & Cheese changes it up with a  spicy Buffalo sauce mixed with al dente pasta and cheese sauce for layers of flavor coming from cheddar, dairy milk, butter, and buttermilk ranch seasonings. I found this dish to be pleasantly spicy and super cheesy, with the elbow macaroni being perfectly cooked. Honestly, flawless.

Here’s a photo of one of the easy recipes you can make by just adding chopped, cooked chicken, green onions and other fresh ingredients to this side dish. With just ten minutes prep time and 30 minutes cooking time, your family will flip out. You could also serve Buffalo Mac & Cheese as a complementary side with chicken wings or fried chicken, or as an alternative to baked beans at your next BBQ!

I also received their White Cheddar Macaroni & Cheese. Made with real Cheddar Cheese, spiral-shaped cavatappi noodles and a hint of savory herbs and seasonings, Bob Evans White Cheddar Macaroni & Cheese is creamy and fresh-tasting. I especially love the longer, spiral noodles in this dish.  Or course, it does not contain any artificial colors or flavors.

Ready to enjoy in less than 5 minutes, you could serve White Cheddar Macaroni & Cheese with sliced ham and a side of fresh steamed broccoli for a meal that tastes like you spent hours in the kitchen. (Tip, why not dip that bite of broccoli into the cheese sauce, while you’re at it?)

Sweet Potatoes are a dish that many folks may associate exclusively with the holiday season, and therefore not even consider adding them to the menu year-round. Bob Evans changes that mindset with their scrumptious Mashed Sweet Potatoes side that will feed a small family.

There is nothing stopping you from topping these with mini marshmallows and popping them under the broiler for a few minutes, is there? I doubt it.

Finally, we come to what is arguably the most universally loved side dish on the planet: Mashed Potatoes. I could eat mashed potatoes on their own as a meal and be happy.
