Calling all dog lovers and cultural connoisseurs: the AKC Museum of the Dog just gave you one more reason to love Fridays. Starting June 13th, the museum is officially going to the dogs—in the best way possible! Every Friday during regular hours, museumgoers can now bring their four-legged besties along for the ride. They’re calling it Furry Friendly Fridays, and it’s paws-itively genius.
If you’ve ever wandered through a museum, soaking in the creative genius, and thought, “Wow, this would be so much better with my dog,” well . . . same. And now, dreams do come true! Furry Friendly hours mean you and your pup can stroll together past portraits, sculptures, and interactive exhibits that celebrate the timeless bond between humans and dogs. Entry for your canine companion is just $5 (timed entry tickets must be purchased in advance, humans still need their own tickets too), and yes — snoot boops are strongly encouraged.
But wait — there’s more! The Museum’s beloved after-hours event, has had a glamorous makeover and is now known as Bark After Dark. This monthly soirée is like your favorite night out — only now, your dog is the guest of honor. Think music, themed fun, socializing, and special surprises, all set among the Museum’s extraordinary collection of canine-centric art. Each month will have a unique theme, so no two Bark After Dark events will be the same. It all kicks off on Friday, June 13th, with tickets priced at $20 per human and $5 per pooch. Honestly, that’s cheaper than most doggy daycare.
