Former Sex Pistols drummer Paul Cook was born on this day, July 20th, in 1956. Paul currently plays in the band Manraze with guitarist Phil Collen from Def Leppard and bassist Simon Laffy from Girl (Phil’s old glam band). Their new CD, punkfunkrootsrock will be released on August 2, 2011. Happy Birthday, Paul!

Geoffrey, Jon and Me
Today, May 16th, is the birthday of one of the most entertaining people I’ve ever met, Jon Schnepp, who directs Metalocalypse, and works on a bunch of other awesome shows for the Adult Swim Network. Back in April, at least I think that’s when it was, I was lucky enough to hang out with Jon while we waited in line to get into Tara McPherson’s Cotton Candy Machine store for the Tiny Trifecta art sale. Jon is completely hilarious and had Geoffrey and I almost peeing our pants for the three hours it took us to get into the store. Type O Negative vocalist/bassist Peter Steele passed away due to heart failure on this date, April 14th, in 2010. RIP Peter.

Back From The Dead and Bigger Than Ever
People do not return from the dead; but sometimes websites do. The long dead and buried Seattle-based rock and pop culture website, Pandemonium Online, aka Pando Mag Dot Com is now back online as a museum of 90s rock that you can waste literally days perusing. This is very exciting news for me an all of the other great writers who contributed passionately and faithfully to Pandemonium for years, only to have their brilliant work expunged from the web once the site went down in the late 90s.
