In this time of social distancing, certain types of self-care and healthcare  — yoga, exercise classes, tele-health visits — can still be experienced successfully through various online platforms. But for those who suffer with ailments that rely on hands-on practices such as massage, physical therapy, and chiropractic care to bring about healing, complete muscle pain relief can remain elusive. Here are my findings.

CBD For The People Unrefined Salve

About the Product:

While most hemp extracts go through several refinement processes, CBD For the People, Unrefined Salve formula contains completely raw and unrefined hemp. The result is a far more potent product that’s higher in cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids, and also accounts for its naturally darker color. My Experience:

The CBD For the People Unrefined Salve has become my treatment of choice for my chronic neck pain, which usually only responds to Craniosacral therapy. It’s true that just a small amount applied and massaged into my sore, stiff neck muscles brings noticeable, effective relief within a few seconds — much faster than waiting for Advil to take effect. The pain continues to dissipate for a few minutes until it ‘slips into the background,’ so to speak, allowing you to continue with whatever you were doing, as if the pain were never there. The lemongrass scent of this salve is noticeably muted by a slightly sweet, nutty essence, due to its unrefined nature. This is also the greasiest of the three products, though it will eventually mostly absorb into the skin (I advise keeping it away from silk and other fabrics that can stain easily). Since a little goes a long way, one jar could easily last six months or longer, depending on how often you use it.

CBD For Life Rub

My Experience: Much of what was said about the Unrefined Salve applies to this rub, which is lighter in texture and color. The rub absorbs quickly (not too greasy) and alleviated my jaw pain within 10 to 20 seconds of applying. The citrus smell is much more evident here than with the salve, and it has a slight menthol essence which I find pleasant. Again, this topical product definitely preferred over waiting for Advil to kick in. While this rub does not completely eliminate pain, it does provide virtually instant relief and will quickly push remaining discomfort to the background, so that you are able continue working in comfort, free from the constant distraction of chronic pain. This rub can be reapplied every few hours, as needed.

CBD For Life Roll-On

About the Product:

My Experience:

I like to roll this on my neck, behind my ear and along my jaw for quick relief with a slight tingling feeling. The very enjoyable bright citrus smell makes you feel like you are in a high-end spa, and its blend of essential oils are both fragrant and invigorating.

While your mileage my vary, these are all terrific, effective products, which have been game-changers in how I manage my chronic pain, especially until I can go to the massage therapist for some hands-on healing.
