The instantly recognizable artwork of NYC-based Graffiti Artist Chris RWK (Robots Will Kill) can be seen at the at the Second Avenue Mural space (entrance to the F Train Station) for the month of May, 2023.

In a post on his Instagram dated May 3rd, the artist — known for his signature friendly Robot with a Red Heart— acknowledges that this spot is an iconic one, especially if you’re from New York. “Growing up hanging out in the area,” he writes, “It was one of the places where you’d arrange to meet up with friends, especially if you were going to a matinee show at CBGB,” which was just around the corner on Bowery. “When I was asked to paint the wall, I knew I wanted to show some love to the City that I was born, raised and ruined in!”

Chris also wanted to paint the mural with a background of  bright blue skies, so you can feel the light as you walk up out of the dark subway. “Like Frank said,” he concludes, ‘if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.”
