Do you love Christmas? I sure do. I especially love to visit bars and restaurants that get all decked-out for the holidays, so that I can immerse myself in Christmas festiveness. If you feel similarly you might want to check out Bohemien Bar — even if it means hopping on the subway to Brooklyn.
As Bohemien Bar gears up for the holidays, the interior is outfitted with standout festive holiday décor, and you better believe they’re serving specialty holiday cocktails in winter-themed ceramic mugs and glassware. Because of course they are.
Bohemien Bar is the most recent passion project from Husband-and-Wife team, Tarek Debira, (formerly at Hotel Costes in Paris and Nobu London) and Patricia Ageheim, (formerly at Bond St. and Indochine), who have an extensive resumé in the fine dining and the hospitality world. Their passion and attention to detail come to life at Bohemien Bar, where they combine a high-fidelity listening experience with meticulously crafted cocktails and a chef-curated menu.
The diverse array of mugs and cocktails, including a smiling Santa, a cheerful snowman, and a jolly gingerbread man, are designed to add that extra flare to an already impressive display of cocktail artistry. With delicious, elevated bar bites to accompany a one-of-a-kind, state-of-the-art sound system, Bohemien Bar is far from the traditional bar one may experience in New York City. It’s a great place to gather with family or friends visiting for the holidays and impress them with the best in music, cocktails, and small bites.
The cocktail menu, designed by Tarek , includes a very festive lineup of cocktails for the holidays like the Dulce Besos, presented in a cute Gingerbread man mug, which is a hot chocolate-based cocktail with Mezcal, Madeira, cayenne powder, and toasted marshmallow. Toasty indeed!
There’s also the O Sanctissima, served in a snowman-shaped mug, made with tequila, spiced cider, vanilla, lemon juice, and dehydrated carrots.
Enjoy the cocktails with perfectly paired small bites by Chef Steven Barrantes (formerly of Restaurant Daniel and Times Square Edition Hotel. The menu highlights many shareable plates of Duck Flatbread with leeks and smoked gouda, Tuna on a Crisp with yellowfin tuna and truffle aioli, Baked Brie with herbs du Provence, or larger menu options from the Land & Sea selection.
The interiors, designed by Tarek and Patricia, emulate a mid-century Scandinavian style, paying homage to Patricia’s background and heritage. Anchoring the space is a custom, horseshoe bar, topped with white marble, accompanied by 20 ash-and-light wood cushioned barstools. A levitated rattan shelf with gold hardware hangs above the bar, displaying their prolific selection of spirits and hanging greenery. The lighting and natural tones create a warm setting for the acoustic experience. Bohemien Bar has two semi-private sections that can be reserved for parties of up to 25.
