I don’t think you can truly understand how very much I wanted to purchase this tiny jar of Pink Vaseline when I spied it conveniently planted in the point-of-purchase area as I waited to check out at Duane Reade. It is very beautiful and pink and tiny (and therefore nearly irresistible me) but I already have lip gloss in my pocketbook and a normal size jar of regular Vaseline at home., so I was able to resist an impulse purchase. Pink Thing of The Day: Body Fantasies Spray Fragrance
The packaging design of this fragrant body spray is almost too pink to resist, especially when you add the fluorescent, multi-colored lip prints. Even the fragrance name, “Pink Vanilla Kiss Fantasy” sounds almost edible. And I guess that is what good advertising is all about: compelling you to purchase a product based solely on how it looks on the shelf. Oh, the Pinkness.
Photographed in Duane Reade on 8th Ave and 33rd Street.

Yes It Exists: Lookin’ Good For Jesus Fix It Kit
OK, someone’s hand is holding this, so it has to exist, right? I did a little Googling just to make sure and, yes, it is a real thing! The Lookin’ Good For Jesus Fix It Kit contains a mirrored Jesus statuette, vanilla nectar lip balm, Easter-Lily hand & body cream (with sparkle!) and a folding mirror compact. The top of the package, adorned with eerie looking cartoon women staring googly-eyed at the Lord, says “Get His Attention.” Clearly this treads a fine line between ‘Cool’ and ‘Oh So Wrong.’ All I can say is let your conscience be your guide.
