The group’s second #1 single spent four weeks at the top. “Get It On” is better known by the title “Bang a Gong” here in the US, because we are such fucking prudes when it comes to sex. Jeez.
Marc Bolan, singer and guitarist for T. Rex was born on this day, September 30th, in 1947. At age 29, Marc died tragically in an automobile accident on September 16th, 1977 and is still very much missed. Happy Birthday in Heaven, Marc!
