Demeter Fragrances: Smells Like Home For The Holidays!

A picture may be worth a thousand words, and a favorite song may inspire a wave of sweet nostalgia, but when it comes to the five senses there really is nothing like the power of smell memory for full-on transportation to the past. With their introduction of ready-to-wear scents of classic, everyday objects such as Grass, Leather and Crayons, Demeter Fragrance Library is a leader in the fragrance industry with their continuously evolving, cutting edge collection of scents. Now that the holidays are upon us, Holiday-inspired scents are more popular than ever, and Demeter has a collection that will take you right back to the aromas of fresh-baked treats wafting from your Mom’s kitchen, even if you’re now living across the country. Here are a few of the seasonal scents we like.

Christmas in New York City is a special time in a special place. It took the genius of Demeter Fragrance Library to capture that specialness in scent: Egg Nog, Spices, Apples and Roasting Chestnuts, all the elements that are uniquely New York at Christmas-time. This is a bold, cold weather scent that will instantly make you feel warm all over.

One of my very favorite Holiday scents is the invigorating pine smell of fresh-cut Christmas Trees. Even if your home is too small for a holiday tree, Demeter’s Christmas Tree cologne will infuse your being with Happy Tree memories all year long. The sweet and spicy scents of Gingerbread, Cinnamon Bark and Eggnog may inspire you to get busy with your holiday baking while subtler, ambient scents like Snow, Mistletoe and Fireplace comfort your senses while allowing you to bring a bit of the Winter Wonderland with you wherever you go.

Demeter Fragrances are priced to own and give as gifts, for as little as $10 for a .29 oz. Roll On Perfume Oil that can be tucked into your purse or a 1 oz. Spray Cologne for just $20. Please visit Demeter Fragrance for more holiday-priced fragrance specials and to place an order!

Impaled Snowmen Mirror New Yorker’s Degree of Frustration With Winter Weather

It is at least somewhat of a relief to us snow-plagued New Yorkers to know that other parts of the country are also “enjoying” similarly crap weather this winter! Tragically, it appears that a couple of fed-up snowmen have resorted to impaling themselves on the Ellifritt Structure located at the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Wyoming. Because, seriously, enough with the snow already!

Thanks To Great White Snark For The Image!

How I Am Starting to Feel About The Snow in New York City

What I love most about the man in the above image is that he looks just like my friend David Lee Beowulf!

Big Fat Snowman in Chinatown

Geoffrey and I got off the F train at the East Broadway stop last evening, enroute an art exhibit for Anthony Michael Sneed when we bumped right into this awesome snowman guarding the corner of Essex and Canal. I’ve kept this picture on the large side so you can see the details, including its tomato buttons and traffic cone hat emblazoned with Chinese characters. Fat Snowman! I know everyone loves to bitch and moan about the snow here in NYC but stuff like this makes it all worth it. And you know what? You’ll probably miss it when it’s gone (sort of, not really).
