I doubt I ever would have seen some very cool subway art if I hadn’t gotten confused and walked west instead of east out of the Bryant Park station. My errant sense of direction lead me down the transit corridor that connects Sixth Avenue with Times Square station, and that’s where this exciting art installation by Nick Cave — entitled Each One, Every One, Equal All — can be found.

If you are familiar with Cave’s oeuvre, particularly his series of elaborate Soundsuits, you may have seen these feathered figures before. For Each One, Every One, Equal All , they dance on the walls of  the avenue-long corridor; their sense frenetic motion perfectly captured in colorful ceramic tile mosaics.

The piece also includes a selection of video screens where you see what these guys look like in action! Be sure to stop for a few minutes on your way across town and check them out.
