Arlo Guthrie has kept the music and legacy of his father, Woody Guthrie, alive for decades. His 1969 album, Running Down the Road, includes his fathers song “Oklahoma Hills” alongside original songs such as “Coming Into Los Angeles.”
The cover photograph for the album, taken by Henry Diltz, shows Arlo wearing this ruffled Pink Shirt while riding musician Mike Nesmith’s motorcycle.
Photographed in the Morgan Library in NYC as part of the Exhibit Woody Guthrie: People Are The Song.
