The 2023 Summer Fancy Food Show wrapped up earlier this week, and be assured that I will be bringing you a wild and crazy recap of the very best of the show as soon as possible. In the meantime look what I found: Spicy Shark Hot Sauce! OMG.
The Spicy Shark line of condiments was founded by Shark enthusiast Gabe DiSaverio. After growing up in the restaurant business, followed by 17 years in the beer industry, Gabe was ready for a change. He harnessed his two biggest passions — Spicy Food and Sharks — turning them into a fun and rewarding career! Armed with a few family recipes, and help from family and friends, Gabe took the summer of 2018 to blueprint The Spicy Shark, and the feeding frenzy began February of 2019!
What’s neat about the Spicy Shark’s labeling is that every flavor of sauce features a different type of shark, and each product is labeled with one to five shark fins to indicate level of hotness! Fun!
The Spicy Shark is also about educating consumers on Shark conservation. Did you know that over 100 million sharks are killed by humans every year, with 77% of oceanic sharks now threatened with extinction? After launching The Spicy Shark and meeting so many wonderful shark conservationists, Gabe learned about helping sharks in their natural habitat, compiling a quick-action list on how everyone can help save sharks. The list features everything from products to avoid that contain shark and contribute to shark finning (ick!), to a list of amazing shark documentaries, and much more. Check it out here.
