Do you like chips? I sure do, but the truth is, the high fat and empty calories of those super-tasty chips that most adults grew up eating are quickly being replaced by healthy snack alternatives. Here’s another truth bomb: many healthy snacks don’t taste that great. Just being serious. Fortunately, there’s an easy way to solve your dilemma of choosing between healthy chips that taste like cardboard and delicious chips that lack any nutritive value. Meet Bob’s Natural Pinole Chips: a crave-able tortilla chip packed with plant-based protein and other nutrients like B and K vitamins, calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, and potassium. Fiesta time is here!.

Featuring the super-power of Pinole, an organic corn treated with lime (the mineral, not the citrus fruit) plus chia seeds, and dates, Bob’s Natural’s delicious chips are packed with 10 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber per serving, making them the ultimate Snack Fuel! While most protein-infused products include whey (which contains dairy), Pinole Chips are dairy-free, yet still deliver a high source of fiber.

I received two flavor varieties — BBQ, and Chili Lime — to sample for  this review, with the BBQ chips pictured above. Both varieties are equally delicious, with a satisfying crispy crunch, a sturdy texture (for dipping), and an authentic tortilla chip taste. As you can see by the photo, these chips have a lot of seasoning on them, but for the tortilla chip purists, Bob’s Natural makes a Traditional flavor, seasoned only with salt. Pinole chips are everything that you want in a tortilla chip, and nothing that you don’t.

Because these chips are so flavorful, they pair especially well with dips: from milder sour cream-based dips for a quick snack, to heartier offerings like guacamole and hummus for a light lunch. Pinole Chips are also great served alongside any sandwich, burger, soup or salad. They taste almost too good to be good for you, but they are.
