Sometimes the best design surprises aren’t found in a restaurant’s dining room at all, but tucked away behind a door marked “Ladies.” While visiting the delightfully kitschy Trailer Park Lounge on 23rd Street, I squealed with delight to find the restroom so unexpectedly fun, it deserved its own Pink spotlight.
The space is a pastel pink dream, complete with a vintage-inspired Pink Hand Dryer mounted to the wall — an appliance that instantly becomes a design feature when dipped in blush tones. Surrounding you on all sides is an immersive wallpaper mural that transforms the room into a tropical jungle, bursting with lush flora, playful parrots, and elegant flamingos. It’s a transportive touch that makes you forget for a moment that you’re in the bathroom .
Bonus points for the infinity-effect created by shooting into the wall mounted mirror above the dryer and catching the reflection from the opposite wall, extending the jungle scene into a never-ending dimension and adding a layer of playful disorientation. This powder room feels less like a pit stop and more like a hidden art installation. At Trailer Park Lounge, even washing your hands becomes an experience worth remembering.
