Ty are best known for their globally-popular line of Beanie Baby plush toys and their big-eyed Beanie spin-offs, so you may be surprised to know that Ty has expanded its world of cuteness to include footwear! Among their wildly squee-worthy line of slippers and slides designed to cover the feet or your equally adorable child, you can now find these plush Flamingo Slippers. So plush, so Pink. They may be designed for children, but I bet I could make them fit me.

Welcome to your second Holiday Season of rocking a mask to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Masking-up is such a part of everyday life now, it doesn’t even seem weird anymore. If you are like me and are mostly wearing the KN95 or blue medical mask, it’s fun to dress those up by layering them with one of the many colorful Pomchies masks I have in my Mask Wardrobe (which is now a thing). Let’s look at some of the seasonal ways you can coordinate  your “leaving  the house” look by matching your mask to your hair accessories with new looks for the holidays from Pomchies.

Modern Art Monday Presents: Edgar Degas, Young Woman with Ibis

PYoung Woman with Ibis

French artist Edgar Degas (1834 – 1917) made sketches of this composition, Young Woman with Ibis during his second stay in Rome (1857 – 58). Originally conceived as a depiction of a pensive woman, the painting assumed a mysterious air when Degas added the imaginary Middle Eastern cityscape, the pink flowers, and the two red ibises around 1860- 62. About the same time, he also considered adding the brilliant birds to his large historical painting, Semiramis Building Babylon, which resides in the Musée d’Orsay in Paris.

Photographed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC.
