On This Date, March 24th in 1973: The Band Called Alice Cooper’s sixth studio album, Billion Dollar Babies (released 2/25/73) entered the U.K. album chart at Number One. The album hit #1 in the US a few weeks later, on April 21st.

The four surviving members of one of the most influential and legendary American bands of the Seventies, Alice Cooper will reunite for three days at the upcoming Chiller Theatre convention taking place at the Hilton in Parsippany, New Jersey from April 16th to 18th, 2010. Please note that Alice Cooper, Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway and Neal Smith will appear for signing sessions and photos only and will not be performing. So if you’re heading to Chiller be sure to bring along your vinyl copies of School’s Out, Killer, Love It To Death, Billion Dollar Babies and Muscle of Love and get them signed by the band! Remembering Glen Buxton

On This Date, October 19th, in 1997: Glen Buxton, guitarist for the original band called Alice Cooper died of complications from pneumonia in Mason City, IA. He was 49 years old. Glen played guitar on all of the original band albums including Love It To Death, Killer,  School’s Out, Billion Dollar Babies and Muscle of Love. In 2003, Rolling Stone ranked Buxton number 90 on its list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. RIP Glen!

Neal Smith, drummer for the original band called Alice Cooper is selling his historic Mirrored Premier Drum Set. This is the very first set ever of completely mirrored drums. The kit includes 19 drums total with four bass drums: The two originals from the financial-record setting 1973 Billion Dollar Babies tour, and the two bass drums from Alice Cooper’s 1974 Brazilian tour, for which the band held the Guinness Book of World Records for over twenty years for the indoor concert attendance record of 125,000 people. No cymbals will be included, but all Premier stands and hardware, plus extra parts, will be included. Drums are being sold “as is.” The buyer will pay for all shipping, or can pick them up in Connecticut.
