It’s safe to say that last summer was completely strange. We will surely remember the 2020 summer season for social distancing, lockdowns, and feelings of anxiety. Fortunately, this summer is completely different. As more and more people are getting vaccinated, more countries are beginning to open their borders to foreigners, coffee shops and restaurants are reopening, and it seems that life is slowly going back to normal. Whether you have caught the travel bug after a year spent at home or you just want to spend time with your family, go out with your friends and have some good, old fun, here are several ways you can spend this summer.

Travel
While life is going back to normal and travel is now open in many areas, there are still some limitations you need to keep in mind. For example, some countries still keep their borders closed for foreigners, while other require a negative Covid-19 test or a confirmation that you have been vaccinated. For example, Caribbean islands and countries in Latin America are taking into account all COVID-19 protocols. When you choose where you want to go, do your homework and find out what that county’s requirements are, and also what you will need for reentry back home. Passengers who are flying into the U.S. from the Caribbean islands will need to have a negative Covid-19 test received no more than 72 hours prior to boarding.

Game and Movie Nights
Regardless of whether you want to spend more time with your family or friends, you can organize fun game nights, where you will be able to catch up, play Pictionary, Monopoly, or other games, and have a blast. If this is not your cup of tea, you can go with movie nights instead. Throw some comfy cushions on the floor, serve popcorn, chips, or other snacks, and lose yourselves in the movie. If you want to take things to a new level, you can organize everything in your yard using a movie projector. Just make sure you check the weather forecast beforehand!

Organize a Picnic
If you are sick of spending time indoors, take advantage of great summer weather to organize a picnic in your local park. If allowed, you can grill meat of veggie hot dogs, or you can just bring some sandwiches or other favorite foods with you. Pack a picnic basket, a comfy blanket you won’t regret ruining with grass stains, and perhaps a Frisbee, and you are good to go!

Play Online Games
Are you looking for a great way to unwind after a hard day? Playing online games might be just what the doctor ordered. Go online with your kids — or friends who act like kids — see which games are popular now, and learn how to play them. If this is too childish for you but you still want to relax while playing games, opt for casino games. Set up a gambling budget and see how much money you can win. Remember, casino games are meant to be fun, so if you find yourself losing nerves over them and your losses, call it a day.

Go Camping
Since going anywhere last summer was very risky, use this summer to reconnect with nature. Of course, camping is one of the best ways to do it. Grab your tent, your sleeping bag, and all the other necessities and hit the road. You can camp in your local forest, in a national resort, or even in a foreign country. However, if you are a rookie camper, it is wise not to go someplace far from home.
After the bummer summer of 2020, you deserve to have a fun summer and spend an amazing time with your loved ones!
