Nostalgia is a powerful emotion, transporting people to special moments and evoking feelings of comfort. The NYC Autumn Jewelry and Object Show, whose inaugural event I recently attended — really gets the significance of jewelry, watches, and art objects in capturing and preserving memories. This new show, which ran from November 16th to 19th (in partnership with NYC Jewelry Week) at the Metropolitan Pavilion, provided a unique opportunity for both trade professionals and consumers to explore and acquire pieces that hold historical and cultural significance.
From antique treasures to contemporary designs, it was an excellent venue to celebrate the craftsmanship and storytelling behind each item. Here are a few of our favorite pieces from the show!

Trays of Mid-Priced, Vintage Costume Jewelry from Spoken Stone

Opaline Glass Heart and Spoke Beads Necklace From Art Adorned
Sponsored by KIL Promotions, the NYC Autumn Jewelry and Object Show is a celebration of craftsmanship, showcasing renowned dealers alongside emerging designers and niche brands. Exhibitors from Alpha Omega Jewelry to Wild Carrot Hairwork presented a diverse array of exquisite pieces, from Victorian jewels to contemporary creations.

Vintage Powder Box from Arline and Bob Kimerling Antiques and Collectibles
Konstantinos I. Leoussis, founder of KIL Promotions, promised that this show would be an amazing opportunity for antique jewelry dealers, watch dealers, contemporary jewelry designers, and object sellers to showcase their items in one of the greatest cities in the world, in an uplifting and supportive environment, and he was correct.

Pink Snake Cuff Bracelet from Duchess Auction House
The show was an immersive, engaging experience for consumers and trade alike. Vendors showcased pieces in a curated setting, sharing the history and cultural significance of each item. The show featured an impressive selection of antique and vintage jewelry, contemporary jewels, and watches from around the world, including Art Deco pieces to classic Victorian designs and classic watches. Despite some (justifiably) very high price tags, there was something for every budget.

Assorted Rings from Rex Jewelry Ltd.

Vintage Bakelite Cuff Bracelet with Semiprecious Gems
On the first day of the show, I was particularly enchanted by these designs from surrealist art jeweler, Amanda Lee Huang, whose company Eyeba creates provocative jewelry using genuine prosthetic glass eyes. Back in the day, there was a store on McDougall Street in the village called C’est Magnifique that sold similarly-themed eye jewelry, and I remember it was very popular in the scene for quite a while.
Above are two ring designs featuring glass eyes set in sterling silver, which would surely be conversation piece wherever they were worn. Your can see more of Amanda’s designs by following her on Instagram at @Eyeba.NYC.
This exquisite mid-century Tourmaline and Ruby-studded Gold Bracelet is from Treasure Fine Jewelers.
“Art, History and Timeless Dreams” is the slogan of Basilio Jewelry, who believe that every piece of jewelry tells a story. I can’t even imagine the story behind this Multi-colored Tourmaline Bracelet set in 18K gold, which they are selling for $7,500.
Basilio was also selling this Garnet and Gold Necklace set circa the 60s-70s (the bracelet and earrings did not quite make it into the photo) by Brazilian designer Burle Marx for the bargain price of $35,000.

Assorted Brooches with Semi-Precious Stones from Steve Fishman Gallery

White Gold and Diamond Choker Charm Necklace from Keyamour

Assorted Coral Designs from Alpha and Omega Jewelry
Here’s a very unique piece from Jack Weir & Sons: a Vintage Baroque Pearl, Diamond, and Sapphire 18k Yellow Gold Sculptural Flower Bracelet. The good news is this piece from the 1970s appears to still be for sale online at a hefty discount from the price I was quoted at the show. Head on over there now!

Assorted Costume Jewelry from Flushing Antiques

Red and Black 70s-Era Lacquered Wood Necklace from New Pagoda Specialty
This is a fascinating piece from Sandy Jacobs Antiques: A large pave turquoise Victorian-era pendant with initial S set with diamonds and pearls. Inquire on Instagram for pricing!
Check out this gorgeous Carnelian Bead Bracelet set in gold with additional turquoise, carnelian and one other unidentified stone, from KIL-NYC. So pretty!
And that’s a wrap! Thanks to the NYC Autumn Jewelry and Object Show and KIL Promotions for hosting us at this very fun show!
