Often a pop of color can completely change the feel of a streetscape. Case in point: the outdoor dining area at Romeos on St. Marks Place in the East Village. The curbside setup is a particularly appealing shade of pale pink, with low metal stools and matching folding cocktail tables, each decorated with a little red heart in the center. Bright red umbrellas provide the finishing touch —and a welcome bit of shade. Because while it’s still summer we should be eating and drinking outdoors as much as possible!
St. Marks Place has always been one of those quintessentially eclectic New York streets, packed with restaurants, bars, shops and plenty of people-watching. Romeo’s playful outdoor setup fits right in, adding a little more color and personality to a neighborhood that has never been afraid to have some fun. Romeo’s describes itself as an East Village spot built around “warm hearts” and “cool drinks,” and I’d say the pink-and-red outdoor furniture makes that sentiment pretty literal. Pink Furniture + Red hearts + Cocktails? Sounds like a pretty good reason to take a seat!
