Here’s the thing: Geoffrey’s neighbor owns an adorable little white dog named Teddy, who just happens to look exactly like the pooch in this fun video, which is at least partially why “The Light” from Glasgow melodic popsters The Pooches is this week’s featured Video Clip! Also, I love that you can easily mistake the 15 to 35 second mark for a dog food commercial. Just being serious.

Video Clip of The Week: Digitalism, “Utopia”
Here’s a stone groove for you body and mind: “Utopia,” the epic new single from German duo Digitalism, and its accompany, mind-expanding video. Directed by Japanese artist Yoshi Sodeoka – famed for his neo-psychedelic work with artists such as Beck and Tame Impala – the talented director takes the viewer on a trippy, kaleidoscopic journey through dreamscapes and nature, bringing the duo’s musical vision to life, while expanding on the identity of their new album Mirage, which is out now.
Sodeoka explains, “When approaching the video for “Utopia” I was drawn to the golden spiral as a representation for infinity, which to me suggests the possibility of an ideal social condition without any limitations on its inhabitants.” Nice.
Mirage reached Number 1 on Hype Machine and Essential New Tunes on BBC Radio 1 within its first week of release, and continues to pave the way for this incredible new collection of work. Digitalism are on the road in the US and Canada in late May/early June. Tour Dates are below. Enjoy!

Video Clip of The Week: We are Scientists, “Too Late”
Good Morning and Happy Sunday to You! Listen, do you like looking at cute boys, and also supporting important social causes, such as Saving The Bees from extinction? I say yes to both! If you feel similarity, perhaps you will particularly enjoy this weeks video clip, “Too Late” by Brooklyn-based pop band, We are Scientists. Vocalist Keith Murray has that unisex adorable factor down, and, despite the ominous title, the song is very upbeat, with a spiritual bent but still kinda silly. Just watch it and tell me it’s not pretty darn cool on many levels. Save the Bees!
“Too Late” can be found on We are Scientists‘ fifth album Helter Seltzer (oh, the cleverness) which is out digitally on April 22nd and physically on June 3rd, 2016 via 100% Records. Enjoy!
Video Clip of The Week: Inglorious, “Unaware”
Here at The ‘Gig, we like to show our flexible sense of aesthetics by changing up the Sunday Morning Video Clip between soft songs that sooth, and (because getting out of bed is hard) slightly more strident tunes to gently kick your ass into gear. Today, we are going with the latter category. If you count yourself among the many hard rock fans who cry out for heavy music that hasn’t forgotten its melodic sensibilities, then you’ll want to know more about UK Rockers Inglorious, who bring us this week’s clip, “Unaware.” All I can say is that I am glad to be no longer ‘unaware’ of this great band!

Video Clip of The Week: The London Suede, “Outsiders”
Note: You Must Now Visit YouTube to Watch This Video. Bastards.
When a publicist sends you a new Suede video, the decision to post it is an absolute no-brainer, because Suede is the shit. If you’ve ever seen them perform live, you know what I am talking about. In this understated video for the transcendent, minor-chord anthem, “Outsiders,” Suede live-animates the cover of their eponymous, 1993 debut album in an underwater, four-minute slow dance that remains entirely engaging for its duration, despite being nearly static, visually. Well played.
