For Ridley Scott’s 1982 movie Blade Runner, filmmakers called upon concept artist Syd Mead to imagine the dystopian world of 2019 Los Angeles. In the science-fiction film, Rick Deckard, (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD officer of the Blade Runner unit, is assigned to track down bioengineered humanoids called replicants. Deckard’s personal vehicle is Police Sedan Number 56, a “spinner” that has been decommissioned and stripped of its ability to fly.
