Wow, it looks like this fabulous Gig of mine, which started out life as a print column back in the ‘90s — when I was still interviewing Rock Stars at a pretty steady clip — is closing in on (nearly) two full decades of me bringing my own brand of special radness to the Webiverse. Worleygig launched on June 10th way back in 2003! It has been sweet ride.
Please wish us a Happy Birthday by kindly following The ‘Gig on our Social Media accounts, (if you aren’t already doing so) at the following Links:
Meanwhile, please continue to Rock!
Hey what’s up. Today we are celebrating the 17th Birthday of The Worley Gig, the Blog Of Neat Things that I launched on this very day, June 10th in 2003 – wow! While many of my peer blogs from back-in-the-day have fallen by the wayside (RIP: Skulls and Bacon, Modern Urban Living, According2G, etc.) The ‘Gig is surviving and thriving as we adapt to changing times. Another birthday for The Worley Gig gives me pause to discuss what an incredible year it has been for us. Continue reading The Worley Gig Celebrates Seventeen Sensational Years on The Web!
Holy Mother of God, can you even believe I’ve been writing Worleygig Dot Com, the world’s Raddest Blog, for fifteen solid years without stopping? It really is unbelievable: and yet, it is true. It was fifteen years ago today that The Worley Gig found its permanent home at this here domain, after first originating in print as a regular column in the East Village-based monthly arts and entertainment publication, The New York Hangover, and later moving on to great success at Pandemonium Online, followed by a few years of breaking new ground at Starpolish. What a long, strange trip it’s been.
All of these outlets are gone now, but The Gig Lives On! Why do I do it? Why do I continue to bring you the best of the New York City Art Scene, Rad Design, Music Video Clips that do not suck, awesome Food Adventures, Pop Culture from around the globe, the occasional Bacon thing, plus a brand new Pink Thing of the Day every single Friday like clockwork? I do it because I love writing this blog, and I love all of you for taking this journey with me!
Please follow us on Instagram at @WorleyGigDotCom for daily reminders to get your ass over here and discover what we’re up to and, and to say hello. Thanks as always for your continued readership!
