Open Call to Artists: Dave Brockie of GWAR Memorial Art Show

March 23rd, 2014 marked the untimely and tragic death of Dave Brockie, a.k.a. Oderus Urungus of the band GWAR. On Saturday May 3rd, MF Gallery is hosting a special memorial art show dedicated to this legendary artist. Dave collaborated many times with MF Gallery, from his solo show / performance piece in 2004 to GWAR’s Crack-a-thon in 2010 and 2011 and numerous group shows throughout the years.

This is an open call to all artists who want to memorialize the Universe’s Greatest Scumdog, or the man behind the mask. MF Gallery will accept all submissions representing GWAR/ Oderus/ Brockie, as long as they are received by April 25th. Interested artists should email info@mfgallery.net for mailing address and more details.

The Opening Party, on Saturday May 3rd (7-10pm) will be a cash & carry sale, with one third of the proceeds going to The Dave Brockie Foundation. Art from the show will be available for viewing and purchasing online at: MF Gallery DB Memorial.

Special party events and further details to come. Admission is free and open to all ages. Artists, fans and friends of GWAR / Dave are all invited to come see the show and celebrate this great man’s life with MF Gallery!
