It’s the crossover nobody knew they needed: The Muppets are coming to the Marvel Universe. Arriving in September, The Muppets Take the Marvel Universe #1 celebrates the 50th anniversary of The Muppet Show with a collection of all-new stories that mash together Jim Henson’s beloved characters and some of Marvel’s biggest heroes.

The oversized one-shot assembles an impressive lineup of creators, including Eisner Award winner and lifelong Muppets fan Chip Zdarsky alongside artist Pete Woods, plus Ashley Allen, Kyle Starks, MacKenzie Cadenhead, David Baldeon, Mike Henderson, Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Adam F. Goldberg, E.J. Su, and Áthila Fabbio. The issue follows the popularity of last year’s Muppet-inspired variant covers and will be accompanied by a new wave of Muppet-themed covers appearing across Marvel titles throughout September.

Celebrating 70 years of The Muppets, Kermit and the gang will star in a set of 10 variant covers featured on select Marvel comic books, set for release in October. Drawn by a lineup of leading Marvel artists, the artwork pays homage to iconic covers in Marvel history.

A Hog On A Hog

LEGO sculptures sure are a hot item lately. LEGO fetishist website Brothers Brick just posted pictures of a super detailed figure of Miss Piggy riding a motorcycle that goes a long way towards showing you the limitless creative possibilities when you have box of LEGOs and an imagination. Brothers Brick also has additional links to a commentary page on the Miss Piggy figure as well as a well-documented construction journal with detailed photos showing the building process. According to the site, Piggy’s motorcycle “is the most pink I’ve seen in a fan-built creation.” Nice!
