You might have noticed that posts on the blog were a little on the thin side last week, because I was away vacationing with my sister in the lovely American city of Chicago. No one will argue that Chicago is a pretty happening place for a vacation, especially if you like to visit amazing sites, eat delicious food and suffer wildly unpredictable weather. Remembering Frank Zappa

On This Date, December 4th, in 1993: Frank Zappa died of prostate cancer at his home in Los Angeles with his wife Gail and children, Moon Unit, Dweezil, Ahmet and Diva, at his side. He was 52 years old. In the image above, Zappa poses with his parents in the living room of his Los Angeles home. On the wall directly behind him is the Ed Beardsley painting Pretties For You, which was eventually used as the cover art and title for the first album by the band Alice Cooper.

Pink Thing of the Day: Pink HotChaChaCha Painting!
Hey, remember this little guy from an earlier Worleygig.com post? Well, artist Gary Baseman just created a one-of-a-kind painting to celebrate the release of that very pink HotChaChaCha vinyl toy! Pink HotChaChaCha painting – acrylic on wood panel and measuring 15 1/2″ x 20″ – is now available for purchase for the first time ever. A price hasn’t been posted but serious inquiries can be sent to Susan Ledgerwood at basemanstudio@gmail.com. Considering the toy retailed for about $100 each, the painting is likely not cheap.
Thanks to Plastic and Plush for the tip!
