Now that summer weather is here, most individuals treat more sun as an invitation to head to the beach, where you can get a vitamin D fix and reveal a little more skin. While you’re relaxing at the beach, a little cannabis can help with the chilling process, provided you pick the right strain from Just Cannabis. Choices are important, otherwise you’ll end up yawning when you should be energetic, and paranoid when you’re keen to feel social. However, you may be wondering what difference cannabis will make, and if it’s even legal where you live in the first place.
Whatever questions you may have about cannabis, this post will answer those and many more. Read on to get the scoop.
The seductive sound of UK-based quartet Kid Wave was described to me as “Johnny Marr hangin’ with The Beach Boys,” which was enough to pique my interest. But it’s lead singer Lea Emmery’s channeling of PJ Harvey and the minor chord melody entwined with Mattias Bhatt’s opiated guitar work that really hits this tune out of the ballpark. The plaintive refrain, “Let’s Go Surifn,” makes “Shelley” the perfect song for the bittersweet end of summer. Recommended if you like The Jesus and Mary Chain, Mazzy Star or The Sundays. Enjoy!
Aw man, what a great, breezy, feel-good video to soundtrack a summer in the city. Based out of Oakland, CA, the mixed gender quarter, Trails and Ways, refer to their music as “Bossanova Dream Pop” – which, yeah, I dig it. The group’s just released Trilingual EP, (on Non Market Records, available on iTunes ) draws from band members’ experiences living in Brazil and Spain, and features lyrics sung in Spanish, Portuguese and English. They have an amazing sound and I really love the vibe of this clip for the song “Nunca,” which shows kids surfing, skating, hanging at what looks to me like Venice Beach and making street art. Trails and Ways are currently on tour so maybe they are coming to your town. Check out their tour dates at This Link. In the meantime, Trails and Ways’ “Nunca” is your song and your video for the Summer of 2013!
Nothing shows the possession of a splendid sense of the morbidly hilarious quite like emerging from the surf in a wet suit designed to look as if you’ve just been mauled and partially eaten by a shark! Ho ho ho! Available in limited quantities, and by request only, from Dornob Dot Com, where they have pictures of other wet suits that are also kind of wacky!
