If you’re a regular reader of this blog, then you might recall that I recently attended an art event at the National Museum of Mathematics (aka MoMath). On the way out of the museum that evening, I decided to pop in to the gift shop, where I noticed something at first seems a bit incongruous: a tiny Pink Bathtub . . . that was in use as a bin to hold little soaps shaped like the Pi symbol. Oh, the cleverness.

Pink Thing Of The Day: Abandoned Pig Toy and Child Seat
What looks to me to be some sort of a Pink Plastic Child’s Activity Seat accompanied by an adorable Pink Pig Toy were found abandoned on the sidewalk just steps from the entrance to the Goodwill Store on West 14th Street. This brings up so many questions for me. Like, why were they not donated to the store? Were they rejected for hygiene purposes due to Covid? Either way, it’s sad to think of this little piggie ending up in the bin. Sadness.
Felted Shark Attack!
This adorable little needle-felted wool Shark is by Wool Buddies, and was spotted at Leroy’s Place in Brooklyn. Shark Attack on the shelf!
Pink Thing of The Day: Abandoned Pink Child’s Play Stroller
For reasons that are a mystery to me, the southeast corner of First Avenue and 14th Street has become a dumping ground for assorted household garbage just recently. It’s beyond disgusting. Come on people; have a little pride in your city and refrain from dumping your garbage on the sidewalk. Every apartment building in the city has assigned bins for refuse disposal. You don’t need to strew your shit on the corner of a busy intersection. Losers.
As an example though of something that was probably abandoned on the spot, Â with little malice of forethought (though with a serious lack of personal responsibility), I recently noticed a discarded Play Stroller that was Pink enough to make make whip out my phone and document its sad demise. They could have at least tried to haul it to a trash bin.
Yes, It Exists: Robotics Engineer Barbie
When I was a little girl creating fun adventures for my Barbie dolls, her career choices probably included Fashion Model, Lifeguard, Stewardess, Ken’s Girlfriend, and that’s about it. Now of course, Barbie can be whatever the fuck she wants to be, even a Robotics Engineer. Yes, I just typed that. Here’s what Mattel’s website has to say about 2018’s Career of The Year Barbie: Continue reading Yes, It Exists: Robotics Engineer Barbie
