Something that makes me nostalgic for my suburban childhood  is seeing the cute Kiddie Rides stationed outside Supermarkets and shops when I’m on vacation.  In this Muppet Babies-themed Chicken Rocket (which I will call it, because that is what it is) your child can ride shotgun with baby Kermit, with baby Gonzo (who, apparently, really likes chickens) in the rumble seat. Wee!

Boasting impressive rocket action, the ride costs 50 cents and lasts about 1 minute and 30 seconds — which is longer than you would think — as seen in this YouTube video right here shot by a cool Dad who loves his kid.

The ride was manufactured by Elektro-Mobiltechnik (known as EMT Kiddie Rides), a Germany-based company founded in 1970. EMT was well-known for producing lots of Disney rides, in particular. In the mid-2000s, it was purchased by Merkur Gaming and was rebranded as Merkur Kids.

Photographed on Vancouver’s Granville Island, inside the Kids’ Toy Shops Emporium.
