This week’s featured Pink Thing of the Day (and very appropriate for Valentines Day) is a treat that my day-gig manager brought to me from her recent visit to our London office! McVitie’s Pink Wafers are a classic British biscuit consisting of thin, crispy wafer layers sandwiched together with a sweet vanilla or raspberry-flavored cream filling. They are instantly recognizable for their vibrant pink color and delicate texture. These biscuits have been a staple of British teatime treats for decades, often enjoyed with a cup of tea.
Though McVitie’s is well-known for many biscuit varieties, Pink Wafers are sometimes more associated with other brands, such as Crawford’s, which is owned by United Biscuits (the same parent company as McVitie’s). They have a nostalgic appeal and are popular for their light, crispy crunch and sweet, creamy filling. I can assure you they are delicious!
