The legal names of the married, artistic duo known as DabsMyla are unknown. Originally from Australia, the pair now lives in Los Angeles, where they create art in an exuberant and idiosyncratic style, often recycling, themes, and signature styles from the history of art.

In the lithograph Memories From the Garden Party (2024) they recast the traditional still life, rendering the luscious strawberries, potted houseplant with its bizarre, polka-dotted leaves, and comet streaking across the night sky in a manner that is consistent with the golden age of American animation.  The couple explain, “Our work is usually reflective of the things going on in our own lives, between the two of us being married and creating artwork together.”

Photographed in the New York Public Library in Manhattan.
