Spotted on the subway platform after a day of relentless downpours in New York City, this pair glossy Bubblegum-Pink Boots managed to turn a dreary, waterlogged commute into a fashion moment. At first glance they look like classic rubber rain boots, but then you notice the unexpected detail — a chunky heel. Rain gear, but make it chic.

The boots had a wonderfully mod vibe, almost like something a 1960s pop star would wear while splashing through puddles on Carnaby Street. Paired with dark skinny jeans, the candy-colored footwear practically glowed against the gray subway tiles, proving once again that practical dressing doesn’t have to be boring. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen heeled rain boots quite like these before, and now I’m wondering why all rain boots aren’t designed this way. A little stormy-weather glamour can go a long way.
